Night at the museum

Finally I could go to the exhibition

"American Pop Art - From the John and Kimiko Powers Collection".

I wish the space were a bit bigger 

so that we could see big art works from a distance.

but, hey, the collection is stunning !

I appreciate we can see such a great show here in Tokyo.

and then, we went to the museum shop.

They have a great selection.

I highly recommend you visit here, and

I myself must come back to find some gifts!

I went to ME ME ME for lunch and 

enjoyed yummy French toast.

They have gotten this pin made by itomono, and I guess it's a bear.

I couldn't help but fall in love with this guy.

He is available at ME ME ME.

Red Glove

This was actually the first time to go to MOMAT

and the Craft Gallery.

 I really wanted to see the " Red Glove" on the banner.

I believe it's worth to go even if the outside is more than 90F !

DIY Community at homspun will start !

いつかつくってみたいと思っていた手芸やクラフト。

機会がなかったり、根気が続かなかったり。

そんなひとたちで集まってたのしく情報交換しながら、

手を動かして、とにかくつくってみよう！という

DIYコミュニティーを立ち上げます。

それにあたり、初回は

「アメリカン・フォークアートのいろいろ」のはなし

キルトやラグ、リサイクルクラフトなど、

アートを学んだことのない人たちが、暮らしを豊かにするために

つくりあげてきた作品や、写真を交えて

アメリカに根付くフォークアートのはなしをします。

お茶を飲みながら、手づくりにまつわることについて

ディスカッションしましょう。

                         先日郵便局に行ったとき、一番新しい切手シートデザインが
　　　　　　　いわさきちひろさんの水彩画なのに気づきました。
　　　　　　彼女の絵のテーマはつねに、こどもの幸せと平和でした。

　　　　　　わたしが子供の頃、誕生日のたびに叔母が毎年かならず
　　　　　　　　彼女の挿絵の入った絵本や画集を一冊づつ、
　　　　　　　　　プレゼントしてくれたのを覚えています。
　
　　　　　　　　　　　　そういえば、黒柳徹子さんの
　　　　　　　「窓ぎわのトットちゃん」の挿絵も彼女でしたね。
