                                               My parents bought them for my sister and me.
                       We kept reading and reading, and sometimes wrote down something on it.
                         Some of them were torn so badly, but my mother fixed them with tapes.

　　　　　　　この本を知ったのは、ART ITというウェブサイトの中の、
　　　　　　　　　都築響一さんの連載「ニッポン国デザイン村」。

　　　　　いわゆる書店やAmazonなどでは流通しておらず、発行元に直接
　　　オーダーを入れて送ってもらうという方法でしか購入できなかったので
　　　ニューヨークにいたころは入手を断念していましたが、晴れて購入！
　　　　　　　（*現在は購入できる書店も、すこしあるようです）
　　　　震災後の街の復興の一環として、神戸の街にフィーチャーしていて
　　　　　　　　　　なかなか読み応えある、楽しい一冊。

　　　　　ブルックリンと言えば、WilliamsburgやPark Slopeなどのエリアが
　　日本では最近盛んに紹介されていますが、このSunset Parkはそれより少し南、
　　　　　　ちょうどConey Islandとの中間あたりに位置していて、
　　　　　　わたしはNY生活１０年のうち、ここで６年間暮らしました。
　　　　自分だけのスペースがどうしても欲しくて、ルームシェアではなく、
　　　　かろうじて当時、身の丈で借りる事のできた古いアパートでした。

 　　     まだ「The Brooklyn Follies」も読みかけのまま、東京に引っ越す時に

　　　　　　記念的な意味合いで「タイトル買い」をした一冊です。

　　　　この本についてのレビューはどうやらかなり賛否両論のようですが

　　　　　　　　　そろそろ読み始めようかと思っています。
